Jesus said in John 12:24, “I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone. But its death will produce many new kernels—a plentiful harvest of new lives.”
Sometimes in order for something to grow, something else must die first. This “growth through death” principle is true in church leadership as well.
In this podcast episode I list five things that I believe need to die in order for your church to experience growth:
- The leader’s need for control in every area of ministry.
- Unimpeded access to the senior pastor.
- Valuing tradition over progress.
- Small thinking.
What are some other things you’d add to this list?
