As pastors, we are in the “people business”. Most pastors I know truly desire to make a positive impact in the lives of others. But I believe there are many times when the average person views their pastor as somewhat unapproachable. I would suggest there are things we do (and don’t do) as pastors that help play into the narrative that we are on a higher level than our people, and thus make it harder for them to feel as though they can approach us with the issues in their lives.
In this podcast episode I list 11 ways that pastors make themselves unapproachable to their people. What are some things you would add to this list?
