Today was a long, exhausting, but rewarding day and a bittersweet end to our amazing trip to Jamaica.
Our team was up early and off to Deeside for the grand opening of The RESCUE Church’s Deeside campus. We had 101 people in attendance! It is so awesome to see God working through our partnership with Pastor Richard Vernon and to see continual growth in his leadership as well as the campus that he leads. The service was followed by a delicious meal of jerk chicken, rice and peas (beans), pasta salad, and garden salad.
We ended the day back in Montego Bay having supper at Margaritaville right down on the ocean watching a beautiful Jamaican sunset. It was a well-earned time of relaxation and reflection over the past week…all the answered prayer…all the times we DIDN’T die on the road (due to either my driving or someone else’s)…all of God’s favor and goodness…and all the potential that lies in store for what He wants to do to build His kingdom here in Jamaica! I am still in awe of the fact that God has chosen our church to carry out a vision that will impact thousands of people for eternity, not only in America, but in Jamaica as well. We truly serve an amazing God!
Tomorrow we get up a few hours before sunrise to begin a full day of travel back to the USA, and ultimately back to Sweet Home South Dakota! Once again I ask for your prayers as our team travels.
This week we will be working hard to get a video report put together to show in church this coming Sunday. Please plan on joining us to see a more detailed report of all that God has done this past week.
This will be my last update from this trip. I want to thank our 7-person team that served on the front line this week and our awesome church family back home who held us up in your prayers and made it financially possible for us to make the progress that we did. Ultimately I want to give all honor and glory to King Jesus whose name we claim and whose gospel we preach. Thank you Lord for choosing to do supernatural, extraordinary things through super-common, ordinary people!
