What I’m Learning at C3

This week myself and 10 others from The RESCUE Church are attending the C3 (Creative Church Conference) put on by Pastor Ed Young and Fellowship Church in Grapevine, Texas.  So far the conference has been awesome and I have been learning a lot from some great leaders!  Below are just a few quotes I have jotted down throughout the conference listed in no particular order:

  • “So often, churches are structured in such a way that protects the “wolves” and exposes the shepherds.” – Ed Young (If you don’t get that one, just ask your pastor…I’m guessing he’ll know exactly what you’re saying!)

  • “Ministry is “brutiful” (both brutal and beautiful at the same time). – Ed Young

  • “When people hate…they elevate!” – Ed Young  (Don’t be afraid of those living in “hater nation” drinking the “haterade”.  The more they hate you, the more they elevate you to a place where God’s glory can be seen through you.)

  • “God chooses to work through those who are willing to act.” – Ed Young

  • “Don’t get distracted by people’s “smallness”. – Brian Houston  (Don’t let people distract you from what God has called you to with unimportant, inconsequential matters.)

  • “No mature Christian who is seasoned in the Word has any defensible excuse for living offended.” – Brian Houston  (Get over your offenses.  Forgive!)

  • “The church is not the enemy of the family…it is the helper of the family.” – Lisa Young

  • “How my life turns out is not dependent on what others do to me or what others didn’t do for me.” – Joyce Meyer

  • “If we do what we can do, God will do what we cannot do.” – Joyce Meyer

  • “Don’t ever be jealous about what somebody’s got unless you’re willing to do what they did to get it!” – Joyce Meyer

I’m sure tomorrow will be another day full of more great teaching and insight from some more great leaders.  Which of the above quotes is speaking to you right now?
